On March 25th Delta Gamma took part in an extremely successful Founders Day celebration along with a neighboring Delta Gamma chapter, Gamma Pi of Roanoke College. Delta Rho, Delta Gamma invited multiple alumnae from around the Roanoke area to celebrate this year’s Founders Day held at The Inn at Virginia Tech.
Beyond a delicious brunch, the women of Delta Rho were able to meet and speak with the women from Gamma Pi and get to know fellow sisters from a separate university. This opportunity helped the women of Delta Gamma understand that their sorority is much larger than just what is at their respective universities.
The women enjoyed a morning filled with stories from Delta Rho alumnae ranging from their competitive spirit when it came to philanthropies, or how their friendships from college and within the sorority stuck through years after. Also, both chapters took some time out from the day to recognize each chapter’s scholastic achievements including recognizing women who earned a 4.0 or a GPA anywhere between a 3.5 through a 3.9. This recognition encouraged chapter women to maintain their academic success through this semester.
The ceremony ended in an exchange between Delta Rho and Gamma Pi of song and smiles. Each chapter’s chapter management team was recognized and the chapter women of both chapters could agree on the event being a large success. Delta Rho, Delta Gamma looks forward to next year’s founders day and are extremely grateful for their relationship with Gamma Pi!
