The Ladies of Oak Lane represents the 12 Panhellenic chapters at Virginia Tech and their philanthropic efforts on and off campus. Whether it be through their own national philanthropy, a local cause, university event or other chapter's philanthropy, these women spend countless hours working to better the community. The Ladies of Oak Lane highlights some of the wonderful things the Panhellenic community does both individually and collectively.

Our Mission: To enhance the perception of the Panhellenic community by showcasing chapters' philanthropic efforts.

Sigma Kappa's Week of Giving

Last week Sigma Kappa held their annual week of giving! Throughout the week sisters collected over 300 food items to help support the Montgomery County Food Pantry.  There are many families in need throughout the new river valley and we are so happy that we could help make their Holiday Season a little brighter.

Also included in Week of Giving is our annual Toys for Tots campaign.  Toys for Tots is a program sponsored by the Marine Corp that donates toys to local children during the Holiday Season.  Sigma Kappa held a trunk show at our chapter house last Wednesday to raise money to buy toys for this cause.  The vendors at the show included 310 Rosemont, Punch Boutique, and Vault Denim.  Attendees of the trunk show enjoyed seasonal treats like gingerbread and cider. The show was a great success and everyone found perfect gifts for their mom, sisters and friends! Sigma Kappa also placed boxes around campus and in every Greek organization’s house in Oak Lane.  These boxes will be available until the end of the day this Wednesday, the 7th, so if you would like to donate there is still plenty of time!

As our last post of the semester, Sigma Kappa would like to wish everyone a happy and restful Winter Break.  And for those of you going to the Sugar Bowl, we can’t wait to cheer on the Hokies with you!

There is still time to donate a toy for our Toys for Tots campaign.  Check for a donation box in your chapter house or contact a Sigma Kappa sister!
