During the week of September 19-23, 2011 Sigma Kappa Sorority held their 3rd Annual Ultra Violet Nights philanthropy week. The week’s events raised over 8,000 dollars to benefit Alzheimer’s disease research. Twenty campus organizations participated in the week’s events which included Sigma Smiles, Dime Wars, D.P. Dough night, Wild N’ Crazy Greeks Field Games, and a Casino Night and Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament to cap the week off. For Sigma Smiles, competing organizations had to make a sister laugh or smile and they received points in return. The Wild N’ Crazy Greeks Field Games included events such as “Craps Soccer”, “Vegas Strip”, a balloon toss and obstacle course (highlighted by a member from each organization getting a pie in the face at the end!)
The Casino Night and Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament was a great evening for organizations to come together to socialize, eat and test their luck at Texas Hold ‘Em and Black Jack! It was a great way to spend a Friday night and end another successful Ultra Violet Nights!
